Default Odering Road Rage Pipe in a few days Need a Little more Info

Hello, I will be ordering a Bassani Road Rage exhaust in the next few days for my 14 Street Bob. I am between two models. I have read through and posted in a few of the Bassani threads but still haven't gotten a clear answer. I read that the shorter pipe 1D5250B would be better for higher RPM riding. I stay in the lower RPM range usually never over 4,000 RPM. I also see that Bassani offers stepped and un stepped headers. I am not really sure what the benefit of stepped and un stepped is?

I will be adding a stage 1 intake and tune it with the Power Vision.

Thanks for your help!!!

The Mega Power Part # 1D12RB

The Road Rage (Short) Part # 1D5250B

Either will work for you and you will be happy.
Generally speaking shorter pipe is for higher rpm's and loner are for tq...
This is mainly for a built engine where small things matter.
I doubt you will notice the difference by the seat of the pants.
My question to you is: if you did a build what would you want?
High hp or high tq... this way you can add the exhaust you want and not have to replace the exhaust later on.
OK, your not going to go inside of the engine so you may say but if you did what would you want?
here is something for you to read.

Kevin is one bad *** builder..
Just for a example, nothing more. We were just having fun.
My tq. monster, 113 built by Kevin. A 2005 super glide
A friend I had meet had a 2010, road glide 120R
From a roll on in first about 10 mph, I let him hit it first. At 110 mph I was considerable ahead of him. The tq. my 113 had was too much for his 120r.
Top end I am sure he can blast me away. 125 mph is enough for me. I am sure there is more but I am not going to find out.
I only have something around 125 hp but the tq. is a helluva lot more.

I would not worry about which pipe get the one you like the most and enjoy.

Thank you for the info. I may eventually change out the cams on this bike. I changed them in my last bike (ultra limited) to Woods 222's. More torque in the low and mid rpm range fit my riding style better than high rpm horse power. If i do put cams in this bike it will be for low/mid range torque.

Stepped headers are a performance feature, not sure how much but most of the "known" performance pipes have stepped headers.

Gottcha thanks, that is one decision made stepped headers now just need to decide which exhaust.

contact bassani the B1 exhaust has the stepped up header and is made for big builds 117 cid and up which they forgot to inform me before I bought. Darrell told me it was a new system and would sound and run great.
found out after, from a engine builder that it was way to big for the smaller engine's. contacted them and they told me it was stepped up to big for the 96 & 103 even with cams.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm going to contact Bassani today. I don't think either of the pipes I listed above are B1's. It looks like the B1's are the long pipes.

I've got the b1 with a 103 and 222 cams and it works fine for me. I had heard that the b1 was for larger builds, but when I called bassani they said it would work well for me. I liked the look of the b1 the best, so that's what I bought. Love the pipe, and if there is a performance difference for being "too much", I'm not seeing it.
