Default How do I know if my tires have tubes?

I know this is probably a stupid question, but do my two bikes come stock with tube or tubeless tires? Is it just spoked wheels that have tubes? Got a damn screw all the way through the rear on my FB.

Don't have my manual with me.

learning experience: Check the valve stem, tube type are not sealed like a tubeless tire is. Very noticeable difference.

Not necessarily. My 2008 FXDC spoked wheels were tubeless.

If there is a screw/nail, etc deep into the tire and it isn't flat, it has to be a tubeless. Put a hole in a tube and the air goes bye-bye in a hurry. Did tubes on dirt bikes for years and I Know a FLAT when I see/feel it.

Easy way to tell, if the the stem is all rubber and seals around the wheel, it is tubeless. If the stem is metal and may or may not have a nut on the outside threads, it is a tube type...Some tubes have stems that are all rubber, but they don't seal to the wheel like a tubeless stem does. (mounted tires on cars and bikes for years, for a living in the 70's, hopefully I know a tube when I see it,.)

FWIW, my 2011 FXDC has tubed tires, I checked, just to be sure... tp

HD laced wheels from 2013 on are now tubeless. Prior years were all tubes.

Nfo reported problems with the laced wheels except when installing new tires with spoons a few nicked the seal and had to go to tubes.
