Default Can This Be Powder Coated??

I am wanting to buy a quarter fairing from Southeast Custom Cycles, and it comes primed but my question is, can this be powder coated? I am getting ready to powder coat my fenders and tank and that's why Im asking. Thanks.

Unless its made out of metal, no. Powder coating requires being put in an oven. The plastic would melt.

Ok thanks, do you know if paint of the same color would match well enough not to notice any differences?

I had my fairing color matched and it looks exactly the same.

A good painter will do a great job color matching.

Agreed. I should point out that mine wasn't painted with HD paint. The 2013 Candy Orange is a base coat with a candy top coat. Each one was about $225 a quart from HD, AND, HD won't unlock the code for private painters to mix. You either buy their stuff or try to match it.

My guy matched the color perfectly. Sun, shade or gloomy garage, the fairing looks exactly the same as the tins. This with a medium gold flake, pearl and a red paint that becomes orange with the combination of base coat and other ingredients.

If this can be done, I'd bet almost any color could be matched if the painter has skill.

I picked up my front fender and side covers from the painter yesterday, HD Quarter fairing today because he said he had a small run and wanted to do it over.
He says PPG has the HD code for Charcoal Pearl and although it looked slightly different on a test he did so far it looks pretty darn good.

I'll post pics later but I'd have to echo what others have said, a good painter is worth the trouble locating.
