Default new SB vs old SB

hey guys I think I will finally be making my purchase for a Street Bob this year, would like to hear some of your opinions in regards to buying brand new opposed to used. what are some pros and cons with buying new or used? I'm trying to get the best deal out there and dont wanna go broke trying to make monthly payments. if looking for used what would be something to look for and whats a good mileage and year etc? weather is getting warmer so I will probably start looking real soon.. thanks in advance!

I always buy used Harley, can't afford depreciation plus you can spend money to make it the way you want.

Avoid 06 model, stator and inner bearing problems. The rest are pretty much same bike, different rear fender with sausage lights from 2009-2012, battery box etc. You can get 2013 model with optional 103 motor. Great bike, you can't go wrong with any one of those!

For me it was a no brainer . I searched within a 200 mile radius and was able to find a year old bike with low miles and paid cash . I love my bike and having no payment is a huge plus .

Comming from all types of motors .. the 103 is the best bang for the buck IMO

Robbie, if I had to choose motor over style I would choose style "your bike". For what that is worth. Love your style bud

hmmm. selection in the bay area for used streetbobs isnt all that great currently based on craigslist and cycletrader. theres some decent ones in LA if your up for a trip. otherwise i'd probably be looking new.

theres nothing wrong with the 96" that a decent tune doesnt fix. and a 103 kit isnt all that expensive.

Check out dream machines of Texas. Nice lightly used bikes, newer sb's for around ten plus shipping (which is not much within the lower 48). No direct experience other than haggling on a bike I didn't end up buying, but I always like their selection.

Obviously get 2006+ for the 96" and 6 spd. If you can find a 103, than more power to you, but I find the 96 is more than enough to make that bobber snappy.

Ive had a 07 bob and just picked up a 2010 bob. Have not noticed anything different other than the stock seat got better I think in 09. The stock seat on my 07 was not that good. My 10 is much better. Not that a seat matters ahaha but never had a problem with either of my bobs. Ive had a hard time finding one in my area as well had to drive 2 hours for each of them. Sucks but worth it-
