Default Removing rear fender on 09 SB

Do I need to take the shocks off or wheel off to remove the rear fender?

Or is it just removing the wire harness and then the 4 bolts on the struts?

Should be as easy as the wiring harness (which connects under the seat next to the battery) and removing the bolts on the struts.

The rear signal lights, 2 other mounting bolts, wire harness up front.
I replaced my fenders last fall. Rust from winter riding.

With the 180 tire, I definitely have to unbolt the top of the shocks and jack the bike up to get the clearance needed to pull the fender. With the 160 tire, I was able to simply let the air out of the tire to get the needed clearance.

how do you disconnect the turn signals? i unplugged the thing from under the seat but is there another plug for the turn signals? the turn signals are obviously too big to go thru the hole on the struts..

But then you have to undo the signal wires from the connectors to get them through the struts.
