Hoping you guys can help. I have a 2010 Street Bob, bought used, it has the rear turn signal relocation kit 68227-09 installed as the previous owner had HD Leather hard saddle bags on it. I won't end up using the saddle bags I don't think so I may sell, but...

I just bought on ebay a HD detachable backrest/rack. What do I need to install this? I called dealer and they told me i need to install the docking hardware 53797-09 which is $70 and they said I also need to keep the signal relocation kit on as well, which I'm not a fan of how it looks.
Is there another option besides keeping the relocation kit and buying this $70 docking hardware kit?
I see many pics of guys with backrests and there turn signals appear to be in the stock position. So confused. Just want a detachable backrest for when my girl rides with me and for when I need to strap a bag for longer trips. thanks guys

 

You will need this part #53968-06C along with #53797-09

It is the hollow bolts that allow you to mount your sigs on the struts.
