Default Tire advice please.

I used to hear Metzlers were the hot ticket, then Michelin. I will putting new tubeless tires on my '08 FXDC soon. I also would like to go next size wider front and rear. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks.

I would say Avon Cobras or Metz 880s if you are looking for a good sticky tire and Mich Commander IIs if you want a good all around traction vs mileage tire. Be aware that Metz run a little closer to true size than the Avons. I swapped from a 180 rear to a 200 and the main reason I went with Avon is because they are just a tiny bit narrower than Metz. I think the actual difference was 4mm but makes a difference when you don't have a lot of clearance between the belt and the side wall. Hope that helps.

As Spank said, the Metz 200 rear should fit because it is slightly smaller than 200mm (I think around 196mm actual) - if you change out the back tire to a 200, make sure you have a 5.5" width rim (stock I believe is a 5") & that you also throw a matching 150mm tire on the front.

Yep. I actually haven't seen any 200mm tires that actually measured out to 200. And the Avon Cobra was a little smaller than the Metz. I like the tread on the Metz better but I was worried it might rub. Im glad I went with the Avon because its really close and those few extra mm would have made the belt rub in my case.
