Default Fat Bob Ape Hanger Install Questions

Hey guys,
I just ordered some brand new 1 1/2 in open apes from BR's so I am pretty pumped. They won't be here for some time so I thought I would get some advice from some guys who have already done the install. My main question is do I have to remove my tank? other than that any and all advice is very welcome and appreciated.
Thanks and advance!

I've looked into this extensively as I'm waiting for the acceptable downtime to install a whole new setup from the trees up. From everything I've read, you might be able to do it leaving the tank on, but you'll spend more time trying to work around it. You'll probably need new throttle and idle cables and running those are a a lot easier without the tank

I just installed 13" 1 1/2" open apes on my fat bob. Didn't need to remove the tank. Just remove the tank bolts and slide it back. There was more then enough stock wiring in the bars, but had to replace clutch, throttle, and brake lines.
Hope this helps

I installed my 16" Burly apes without removing tank on my 12 Fxdc. Remove bolts and slide back or if you have a tank lift you really Don't even have to do that. You just need enough room to access the throttle cables. Removing your A/C helps a lot.
