I know it's old but what a great read FXD_noob. As was said you definitely deserve a name upgrade. ;-) How is the bike running these days? Should be good for another 50K miles or so now. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks man! Well, my bike now has 68K miles and runs like a top . I do have a leak coming from each cylinder half though, pehaps the gaskets that I bought on eBay were not so good...but they were James gaskets! (supposedly) All in all the bike runs great...I've been saving up to upgrade the cam chest!

Default Oil Pump Screens

Pingel has just (new to me) brought out screens to go over the pump pick ups so that none of the shoe material, or anything else, will get through and damage the oil pump. They run about $35.00 more or less which is cheap insurance for your oiling system. I have a pair on order and will install them over the winter. Just a heads up...
