My buddy and I have been trying to tackle his rear fender problems. After his ride to sturgis in 2012 his fender cracked around the tail light on either side. So once he got back we took the fender off and welded the fender back no problem. We even added some what of a support brace in the back. But in the fall of last year the rear fender split even more which almost had the tail light on the ground. He ordered a OEM fender from harley and recieved it a couple days ago. We looked at both fenders and there is a big difference in the support on the inside. I dont know about all the other fenders that came stock on the street bobs but it seems to me that the original fenders had no support what so ever.
