Default Fuel Line Leak - Help

Just had the paint redone on my 06 FXDI. Got it all back together this evening and noticed a leak. The line from the bottom of the tank to the intake is leaking at the quick-connect. Disconnected it and pulled a piece of o-ring out of the female fitting that screws in the tank. This is not the o-ring where the fitting threads screw in the tank. I guess there is one either inside the female fitting (#8 below) or on the male fitting (#21 below). Checked the parts manual and o-ring is not listed. Not sure what I need to replace, the female fitting or the male.

Anyone else been through this who can help me out?

This happened to me after paint as well. I bought a new female fitting , but there is a little o ring in there you can replace. Less messy and a lot cheaper to do it that way

Change the O ring in the female end. Need to use a mirror and a dental pick to look inside and pull the old O ring. Use a little grease on the O ring when you re-install, makes it easier to keep it in place.

Yep exactly this !! make sure you do use the grease as the o ring can chop out very easily if you assemble it dry. its the same size o ring as used on all the oil drain plugs

Thanks guys. Going to pick up a 11105 o-ring today. Based on other searches, also saw some who said to use 11273 o-ring. Going to pick up one of these too.

Don't mind the expense of the check valve, or the labor to change. Just the bike has been pulled down since February and its time to ride. Don't want to have to order the check valve and have to wait.
