Default Mini Apes on a FXD Question

looking to put 10" apes or factory street bob bars on my 2010 FXD. Im new to this forum and recently got this bike as my first Harley. Anyways is it possible to do either one of these bars with out replacing cables etc? I did a search and some posts say yes, while others say no. Anyone do this type of swap and know first hand if it will work or not?

I doubt it'll be a straight swap....I was looking to do the same to my 02 FX, so I ended up with Biltwell Frisco bars, they're an 8"rise, and I barely made it. A buddy of mine just put 10" rise T bars on his 09 FXDC an he had to do cables.

mine are 10", I changed throttle and idle cables, might have gotten by without changing them even.

DJY, How tight are your clutch and brake lines, and what bars did you go with?

Road 6 Customs Frisco'd. Let me put it this way. I doubt I could go any taller with the brake line. Still have a little slack in clutch cable, although, not a lot. Highly recommend R6C.

I put 10 inch mini apes for a FXDWG on my 2001 FXD and I had to replace the clutch cable, throttle cables, and brake line. The originals were too short.
