So I went for another ride today from San Diego to Joshua Tree. I gotta say, this stock seat was really hurting my tailbone I stopped about every 60 miles to get a little relief. What options are there without spending $500+?? or are there any affordable options?

The scenery was a way to keep my mind off it, but the ride home was really really windy and tedious.

Here are a couple pics I snapped while I was out there. The weather was great! about 88 degrees.

I brought my gopro and filmed some of the ride, but for now I am too tired to edit and upload. I will post it up later.

 

I like the Sundowner. Very comfortable. Comes in solo and 2-up. Around $300 at Harley shop. Its not the best looking seat, but after several hundred miles, my butt really doesn't care what the seat looks like. Also, most Harley shops have one they will let you try before you buy.

 

I rode this weekend 200 miles on a Lepera BB one stop at 100 miles to ****. I am probably the only one that wont complaine about this seat for a long trip.

 

Throw sheeps wool, or a small blanket (like an airline blanket) over it and ou will be fine. My seat is stock and it works.

I just did an Iron Butt that I used it on. It may have helped but I also wore some padded bicycling shorts. I think they had more to do with my comfort than the sheepskin.

For the sheepskin I just layed it on the bike, traced the outline on the back of it. Cut it out, put some tarp tie-down repair holes in it to strap it down.

If the seat doesnt fit the shape of your *** dont waste money on a sheep skin, get a new seat. You can pick up a mustang wide vintage solo for around 250.00
