Default New Pipes

Just bought a new 2014 Street Bob, and i have a few questions for you guys:

I bought new pipes and intake, how much will it hurt to put them on before the 500 miles? or before the bike is done "breaking in?".

Also, last question... Any thoughts on powder coating the rims and putting some white walls on it?

Any thoughts would be great!

You are not going to hurt anything by putting on your new pipes and air cleaner. The only thing that will not be good for it is if you do not have anything to richen up the fuel mixture.

Once you change both the pipes and air cleaner, you need to add fuel to the mix. If you do not already have something, below is a good thread on the subject.

I put pipes and AC on mine at 8 miles. Now have 8000 miles with no issues. DK is right though. You need at least the DL from your dealer to compensate for fuel.

the Dealer DL is a joke, it simply adjusts the rev limiter waste of money, just a joke they rip people off with that... do pipes, intake, and a tuner or Xied if that is all you plan on doing. you are going to have to change wheel sizes as you can not get a White wall for the rear wheel on a stock dyna unless you lace in a 16". for wheels 100% powder them up if yoiu have any questions or need the work done please let me know.

I am a firm believer in you break the bike in like you will ride it (with pipes intake etc) depends who you ask is what answers you will get. IMO there is not really a right or wrong as long as you are not beating on it for the first 1000 miles or so

I put the pipe, intake and cams with ten miles in the clock. 12k later in it still runs great. Oil is clean too,
