FXDF Road King Light project
Not being a fan of the even heavier FLH series; I read my Fat Bob weighs the same as the original Electra Glides; so is certainly heavy enough to tour on...with a few mods.
First was the bars; bought some fat bars with 1" centre and HD grip ends, welded on a Hollywood bar and painted it all John Deere blitz black. The Cole Foster grips are nice, but had to skin a left hand grip to get the tube, over which the CF grip barely went...lost the chrome add-on tachometer thingy, but found an NOS '08 speedo-tach combo at Vintage Parts. I prefer the windshield, added some '50s re-pop mini travel decals and a few others from along the road. Took an RSD cam cover and got it PC'd in HD wrinkle black, added RSD valve covers, too, for just a touch of chrome. Inside the engine are SE 10:1 cast flat tops and an S&S 583 E-Z start cam. Needs to be re-tuned as the bike came with 203's...
Lastly, went with an RB racing pipe..more to come
