Default 120r Fat Bob (A must read)

Had Capital Harley Davidson install a 2013 120r on the bike. made 132.7 hp with 127 tq. Not bad. But knew the 120s are having some issues. So over the winter I tore it apart. Took the bottom end to Hot shot Motor works out of Upper Sandusky Ohio. Dan is the owner there and did the work him self. The crank was out 0.007 and 0.017 on the back. Not good. The balancing was way out to. He welded the crank up balance it and put the hole thing back together. Had a 0.001 run-out when he was done. (nice job). But I didn't stop there. I took the heads to Gillner Engineering out of Parma Ohio. He flow bench the heads then hand ported the M.V.A heads. I will put up flow bench numbers soon.. A quick note lot of guys claiming to get 300cfm out of these heads. not going to happen and Den Gillner has been doing this his whole life. Google him for your self. We installed 12.1 screaming eagle pistons alone with woods 68-G- 7 gear driven cams, S&S roller rockers, billet off set rocker supports. adjustable push rods from S&S. Porter the intake also.installed new 6.2 injectors. This this should make 150 hp all day long. by the way the C.C.P was 196.9. should have bike running in the next two weeks.

This is why I would buy an S$S motor instead of the SE. Reliability can be had with good tolerances.

Can't wait yo read the final results. Get a video with sound for us!

Your name should be madeOFmoney101! Lol. Sweet build I'll be waiting for dyno results! What's the deal with the 120r having so many issues? I didn't know that crank wasn't already welded , I can't believe that!

Sweet, need some pics though! That should really roar, what clutch you going to use? Are you going to change the gearing or any other mods?

How much is a 120r crate motor? $6000? Sound like a waste of money. If you knew it at the first place, I bet you should have built your own bulletproof motor instead.
I can't wait to see the outcome, keep us posted!

We actually have S&S replacement cranks here for the 120R's, along with Timken conversions, roller rockers, S&S lifters.........which the 120's do not have.......also with those being a "crossed flag" part from HD, the 120R's do not carry a warranty.
Better to start with an S&S 124 or 126" powerplant when looking for the gusto, along with their warranty.

Nice! Tw68 @ 12:1 will run. That's a hell of a cam. That boarzilla isn't going to be enough. Plenty of people getting well over 300cfm @ 28 out of the mvas. What throttle body?
