Default Short shots into 2-1 exhaust questions

I just put hard bags on my dyna street bob and I have Vance and Hines short shots for the exhaust right now. I'm worried about the exhaust being to close to the right side bag so I was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible just to take some metal and weld the two pipes into a single exit, to aim the exhaust to the side instead of the back? Everything would be done after the baffles so I would assume I wouldn't have to remap the bike for anything but that's another issue I was hoping could be answered as well

I don't personally see what harm can come from that, who knows you may actually improve your low end torque but I am just guessing. No remap though of that I'm sure.

Been running bags with short shots for two years now and no issues keeping them the way they are for me. No heat transfer at all. Unless you have some long dresser bags.

The Akrapovic pipe is badass though. (Pic attached)

OP.
Look at Cone Engineering for some weld-on, possibly clamp-on options.

A friend of mine is building the stretched/big wheel baggers and using the Akrapovic and Misfit pipes... they sound mean.
