do the 04' tanks have tabs on the inside for fuel pump mount?

According to the part numbers they are identical tanks and the 04 is used all the way up to 2014, so yes.
For those that do not know, the last 2 numbers of a Harley part number after the dash is the first year of that part, a letter after that means a slight update to the product.
If the update is enough to cause it not to interchange, it gets a new part number.
Harley's new part numbers do not use this same methodology, so if it does not have the #####-## format, I do not know how to decode those just yet.

that is awesome was not aware of that! i guess i should pay more attention when i am doing tanks to check for that hahaha

ive never understood why anyone in their right mind would want to put a sportster tank on a dyna and lose 2gal of fuel capacity. they look totally out of place. I wish I could get a touring tank to fit and look good on my fxdc so I can gain another gallon of fuel capacity.

I hear that, if I could find a 5.5 or 6 gallon tank with the aircraft type cap like I have, it would be on my ride. A 200+ mile range would be nice
