Default My FXDF Fat Bob mods (pic heavy)

Now that I have put a few hundred miles on the new to me 2009 FXDF Fat Bob along with a few mods that I have very much enjoyed installing, I thought I should start this thread to have a place to keep track for myself and also share where my FXDF has been and where it is going in regards to any mods/customizing I have done/plain to do.

I picked up my Fat Bob used with low miles and some nice extras a few weeks ago.
The extras included:

The H.D Oval Mirrors ended up getting stolen off the bike at the dealer, and I removed the sissy bar, seat, slip-ons, highway bar, and the stock air filter (plan on trying to selling the take offs as soon as I have some time, so I can my form my new upgrades).

So far with the help of eBay and the internet I have added:

· An Arlen Ness Inverted Slot Track Air Cleaner
· Vince and Hines Shortshots along with a pair of quiet baffles
· A TTS Mastertuner
· CVO tri-bar led tail light
· A CVO Fat Bob seat
· H.D. slotted stem Profile mirrors

I love how easy modifying the Harley is, I have never had a bike with so much that can easily be done to make it exactly what you want.

I also have really enjoyed riding the Fat Bob, I have commuted to work in Chicago nine months of the year from the day I stated riding and the FXDF is such a smooth ride even on the honorably pot holed Chicago streets.

I have the same bags on my wide glide and there sold as a rigid mount kit and I am fine with that I sucked them in even closer by using the quick detach hardware as my spacers there not bad the openings are a little smaller than I'd like but not unbearable. They fit my rain suit my gun and a 6 pack of beer with room to spare on one side so if that gives you an idea on size. Sorry didn't mean to steal the thread but thought I'd post my opinion

I wish I could run the tri-bar but after my first one fell off I won't go there again. Do yourself a favor and search the forum for possible fixes to keep it from happening to you.

Sorry to post so late, I did not know anyone had replied to this thread.

I love the bags, they are roomy and keep my stuff dry even in the whorst Chicago rain. The quality is in my opinion is very good. I got mine used with my bike so I do not know the age the bike is a 2009 and the bags look great.
I love the look and the fact that they are not leather means they will not shrink or dry our.

Thanks for the heads up, my tri-bar came with broken tabs used form ebay.

I jb welded a small washer on each side what was left of each tab and filled it all in. I then shaped and Jb weld with my dremel tool and drilled holes for the screws. A little of my girls black nail polish and you can not tell its been altered.

It is still holding up grate after 2000+ mile most of it on Chicago's rough streets
