Default Mounting compressor in neck

So I was looking at the SB for a place to mount my gast compressor and I remembered all the space in the neck from doing my 107 install. Would there be any negatives to mounting my compressor there from a technical standpoint? I would simply pull the large plastic plate/plug/cover from the bottom of the backbone and either trim or toss it. If it works I can run my air and power wires out the neck and under the tank so the install is pretty much invisible. Im leaving on Friday for a few weeks so I'm not wanting to pull the tank and start another project right now.
