Default do i need a lift and torque ??

Hi, i have a 2009 fat bob. I just bought the dk customs side mount plate mount that goes on to the axle. the axle has a clip on the end and then the nut. my question is can i remove this nut and put the plate mount on without lifting the bike? and also is there a specific torque i need when putting the nut back on after putting the plate mount on? thanks for the help

You can take the nut off without a lift. However you will need a torque wrench to put it back on (and a spud wrench to hold the axle on the exhaust side). 95-105ft-lbs on that nut. Torque wrench can be had fairly cheap from Lowe's, Kobalt brand, and is actually really nice. .it's been tested and is pretty accurate. I believe I have the 50-250ft-lb model.

36mm socket for that nut.
