Before I start pulling things. Went to start our 2010 wide glide, ss106. It started turning over like normal. Then it stopped cranking the engine. Now when I hit the starter I get a loud knock and that's it. No click, a knock, I can feel it hit by putting my hand on the primary.
Any ideas before I start on it.

Loose connection and it's not getting enough juice? The starter itself is freezing up? Sounds like you're gonna want to remove the starter and bench test it if the wiring and battery are good. I have the instructions from the electrical manual somewhere.

 

Battery is good, checked it already.

Kinda sounds like the drive went out too far and is hitting something in there.
I'll pull the primary later and have a look first then pull the starter.
