Default 2014 FXDB Rear Fender Ewwgh!

whatsup guys. new to the forum and i need some suggestions!!!

I personally cant stand the look of the rear fender on my fxdb and was looking to immediately replace it with a super glide or older year street bob fender but is it really just that easy? I WISH!!

What exactly do I need parts wise besides the obvious tailight??

Really appreciate any help given!

I did a fender swap for a Fat Bob rear fender. Not hard at all. If you can find someone to swap fenders with, that would make life easy.

If not, I think all you would need are the fender and tail light. You might be able to re-use the harness. Not sure on that. Otherwise, new harness.

It's a few hours work. Jack up the bike, remove the seat, remove the shocks and have at it.

Good luck!

This statement begs a question. Why did you buy a new Street Bob if you can't stand the look of the fender?

The OP has a Street Bob. The WG and FB fenders are too wide.

OP. It actually is that simple. A Superglide, Low Rider or older Street Bob fender will bolt in place. You will need to sort out the wiring since your 14 doesn't have an exclusive wire for the tail light, should be very simple though. Physically, the fender bolts up with four fasteners.

I have a 09 SB and just put a 13 SB fender on mine...I didnt have to jack up the bike or anything, its literally 4 bolts holding it in place, turn signals were kind of a pain in the *** but nothing bad at all

That's right - no strut covers on the SB, so no need to take the shocks off. Dang, that's even easier!

There's a pigtail harnes under the seat that has one main connector and three small ones coming off that that go to the tails and plate light all you do is remove that and but a tail light harness for a super glide it's like $35 from harley comes with the "conduit" that runs under the fender using sticky tape use a integrated tail light very simple swap
