Default 2000 RPM Vibration

I have done the motor mount shim. Replaced the front mount. Does whether its in gear or neutral. Over 2000rpm it will smooth out. Once it idles down to 2000 or I cruise at or under 2000 it vibrates to hell and back. Its not even fun to ride. I did notice the top stabilizer mount has some play in the bushings. I am gonna replace that and the rear mount and see what happens. If that doesn't work then its going to a local indy.

Loosen your exhaust mounting hardware. Start at the heads and work your way back re torquing all of the hardware. See how that works for ya.

I forgot to add that it does have Short Shots exhaust. But it did this before I put the new exhaust on.

It's normal for the rubbermount engines to vibrate in that rpm range. Spin it a little faster if you want the vibration to go away.

Yes, check the mounts.

What year bike is it ? It could be a more seriousroblem with the crank.

I know you didn't post this forhelecture, but......

It's true. Unless you have a very torquey cam, your usable range starts at. 2200 RPM. Cruising below that is lugging the motor. I have the SE 255 cams which have good torque at a very low range. Even then, 2000 RPM is the bare minimum range for cruising. It sounds like you may be running it at too low an RPM.

Its a 95 Low Rider. I took my friends 97 Low Rider for a ride around the block just to see how his handled and it was a world of difference. No vibration hardly at all. Mine has 44k miles on it. The top mount has me concerned with the amount of play it has. Almost as thought the rubber bushing dry rotted.

Have you checked the exhaust mounts, not the ones at the engine but the ones mounted to the engine there's a front and rear mount? Try loosening and running see if it vibes less or more. I was just reading about issues with the exhaust.

I have a 96 fxdl with the exact same symptoms. My fm is good, but rm is questionable. Last nite I jacked it up just enough to take pressure off the mount to see if I noticed a difference when holding it at 1800-2000 rpms. Didnt seem any different, but I rode today and it was almost completely gone!
I'll be replacing the mount.

I replaced my rear mount. No change to vibes. The front made a huge difference in stability and vibe reduction. With the worn front it cornered bad and felt like driving over railroad tracks. The rear replacement caused my engine to sit higher and further forward but that was it. My vibe range is 2000-2100.

Have you checked the primary chain for tightness, in adjustment, maybe you are getting a chain vibration.
