Default Sitting and Seeping

Ok so i just finished up my 01 fxdxt. It took a long time, but its done. So I am breaking in the motor and stop to get my state inspection for the bike and i notice the trans top cover and side cover are wet. Nothing major just shiny. So I talk to the head mechanic and he tells me thats its normal for a bike to seep out the gaskets if it has been sitting. He said once i get to were i change the oil for the motor to just put non-synthetic back in all three cases......this sound right to y'all?

ps - 01 t-sport 56,xxx miles (about 40 on the motor)
