Mine are from Viking. They make a lot of styles. Which style are you looking at?

I like the one that are cut out for the shocks as I feel they may be slimmer but I have no way of knowing or seeing them in person I don't really want to take a shot in the dark

Default Viking Armour Shock Cut Bags

I just put a set of Viking Armour Shock Cut bags on my Superglide about 6 weeks ago. I have the luggage rack quick detach kit which sets them out about an extra inch. My bags are considered XL size but they will not carry a whole lot of stuff. They carry plenty for day to day stuff such as rain gear etc...

The left bag still rubbed the axle bolt cover and rubbed a nice spot on the fiberglass. I had to remove the bolt covers as the bags knocked one off for me in Muscle Shoals on the first trip. I used the mounting brackets that came with the bags but you will have to get new SAE bolts as they come with metric bolts that are too short as well.

Default Viking bags

I ended up getting bags that were not cutout for the shocks. I'm very happy with the quality considering the cost. The mounting brackets and turn signal relocation are from great bike gear. I wanted to retain the detachable hardware for my sissy bar so the bags do stick out.

I have the same bags as Sharpie on a '13 Street Bob. I also had the same issues and did the same the corrections. My preference was to attach these bags fairly low just like Sharpie's pics show. I think if you liked the look of placing these bags higher, perhaps in line with the fender, one would probably not have the issue of hitting the axel nuts. Food for thought. . .

Are you stuck on the Viking bags?

What type of money do you want to spend?

I like the looks of the HD bags for the Dyna.

I have Corbins and they fit tight and hold a lot of stuff...definitley hard mounted since the sigs get relocated right to the bags.
