Default Cam Help!

Hey everyone, looking into getting a new cam. Currently using the 259E in my stage 4 set-up, but the more I ride around with it the more I dislike it. Made pretty good numbers, 115/110 if I recall, but the power curve isn't where I like it. I have to rev the **** out of it to feel it. Not that I don't mind doing it every now and then, I just want something off idle.

Anyone have any good recommendations?

Do you really want a lower rpm cam with those higher rpm pipes?

I didn't realize my V&H 2-1's were a high rpm pipe?

You have basically short drag strip type pipes, and those work pretty well if you like to scream around. If you want to really help your low rpm to mid rpm performance then I think a cam change and a pipe change would be necessary.

Some suggestions, many others to use for sure:

Pipes: D&D Fat Cat, Supertrapp Supermeg, Bassani Mega Power

Cams: Genesis 577, Tman 590, S&S 570, Woods 777

Hmm, I tend to disagree as I have had drag pipes before and though I'm sure I'm losing a little low end these are still a good 2-1. The squeeze wouldn't be worth the juice to change them out, just to get a little bit more low end, especially when I know it's my cam. The duration on the 259E is more towards the right than I like. I should have not even used them, but I figured at the time why not. Lesson learned...

Side view of my pipes. A drag pipe would first off not be a 2-1 and they would exit barely pass the rear jug...

I realize that they are not actual drag pipes but they are extremely short and "drag" like. Do you have a dyno chart to post? I bet there is a big torque dip around 2500 to 3500 rpms and then the hp/tq curves start to correct on out to max rpms.

I'm looking at a new 2014 street glide and I was thinking it would be nice to have some spending money to build it the way I'd like.

It's been tuned twice, by two different people. Only have the first time, but if I recall they were similar.

you could get 100 different opinions on here, maybe post this in the engine/mechanical section. a few guys that are real motor builders might chime in and help you out.
