Anyone done a wing arm swap on a 99-05 dyna? I am thinking about swapping to the newer style swing arm and rear fender to accomodate a larger rear tire. I want to fit a 180 on my 2000 fxdx. Anyone know pivot shaft measurements? What about a newer style bagger swing arm on an older dyna? Anyone done either?

It's been done before so it's not impossible and I think machining would be required but if you are going to the trouble and the goal is a 180 tire than I would look into a swing arm from a XR1200.

I wish HD would come out with an "R" model Dyna and one thing it would have is 17" inch wheels both ends to take advantage of all the sticky tires and an aluminum swing arm.

 

I've seen this video. I didn't like that he didn't do anything to align the belt by spacing the primary or anything. Opps. I will edit post. I shouldn't known the swing arm was changed in 06.
