Springer to FXD Dyna SG swap

Springer to FXD Dyna SG swap
First off... Greetings and Salutations.
Secondly... I don't know how to use squat on this forum yet...
Tertiary... Long time lurker on the forum..
Recent supporting member..
This is literally my first post.
Anyway, I have been dreaming for an OEM springer for my 96 Dyna Superglide.
I have looked at and priced most of them out there.
The paughco units seem superior to the others.
Fact is... I'm a dipshit snob who wants nothing but OEM on my ride.
I have found a couple (price is really no issue for me) Skull and Crossbones units as well as some other OEM chrome units.
Finally.... My question (whew)...
Who has done the OEM springer front end swap on a Dyna SG and what pointers or issues could you point out from your swap experience?
Any help and/or feedback would be greatly appreciated (before I click "Buy it now")..
Thanking you in advance for your input.
Peace.
P.S. I posted this same comment on an old thread. Hoping to get some more expedient responses by posting anew.

If you're gonna do a springer don't get those fake ones. Get a V-twin replica springer: http://www.vtwinmfg.com/catalogs/cyr...SPRINGFORK.pdf

Thanks
Welcome! There have been several posts about converting to springer front ends. I love them and think they look awesome. If I remember correctly though, they have been on later models than yours. Not trying to be an a$$ but if you do a search on this Dyna forum it should bring up some.
I did a search.
As I mentioned, it was an old thread and I hoped to garner more responses by posting a new thread.
It works! You guys are responding.
And I appreciate that.

Very good stuff.
Better than anything I have seen so far besides the OEM.
I'm hoping for an OEM unit.

There's 2 questions you need to answer. What length do you want, and offset or inline.
Personally, I detest offset springers, which includes all factory softail models. Makes the bike look like it ran into a brick wall.
In case you don't know what I am talking about, offset or inline refers to the headstem alignment to the legs. Inline forks are just that, headstem is inline with the legs resulting in the forks having the same rake as the headstem. On offset forks, the headstem is angled back towards the bike at the top resulting in the forks having steeper rake and therefore quicker steering.
AFAIK. A pre 50 bikes had inline springers.
