Several of you gents have had your bikes painted. What does a reasonable, middle-of-the-road paint job cost these days? No crazy metalflake or candy colors, but maybe a nice two-tone.

Forget paint - powder coat! Looks great. Easy to take care of. Clean with soap/water, windex or just one of those wetnap multi-purpose cleaning cloths. I keep a few in my saddle bag. It's tough as nails so you don't have to worry much about about scratches or swirls. There's like 16,000 different colors and finishes from matte to gloss to texture (Joe and Tim did several sample for me so I'd get just the color I wanted) and I think it's cheaper than paint, too. You can do two-tone and other fancy stuff - I just went one color with a matte top clear.

Joe at The Powder Pros (JRK5892) did my bike. I had him do the tins, including 2 rear fenders (a chopped one and the stock FXDF one), the fork lowers, a luggage rack, the rear pully, a custom plate bracket and some various other parts. I think it was between $1000-1500 for everything including fixing a couple dents, removing an old (bad) power coat job and shipping.

There's my thread on it

Sweet! Thanks for the info, it's just what I wanted.

I keep forgetting about this "new-fangled" powdercoating thing!

Thanks! Yeah, I know, paint is one of those things where you really do get what you pay for.

Excellent ride, That's what I'm looking to do with mine, all I need is to pick up some white walls and the burly slammers.
