Just found this cruising fleabay

Says it's 7 1/8" wide so it should fit under the tail in place of the old one. I'm thinking of getting one and messing around with it. It's only $40. I could probably just gut the stock bracket and trim it down to use to mount the new one, yeah? Obviously the axle bracket will get ditched. Thoughts?

 

For only $40 I think it's worth doing. Looks like a decent piece.

 

Maybe take a minute and search for some cat's eye lights...they would be rounded on the bottom also, but should still fit.
