Problems,My bike ran out of gas,put gas in ,want start, hauled it home, recharged battery, hard to start, but did start ran rough would not rev up unless you give the throttle real slow. Road it to the Harley dealer, got it up yo 80 mph a time or two. The checked it out, said it needed fuel pump and filter, called later and said that did'nt fix,now says needs injectors.I think they are just throwing parts at it hoping to fix. What do you guys think? All this from just running out of gas.

No experience with running out of gas but I'm curious as to what the fix turns out to be. Always sounds fishy when the dealer just starts replacing things related to the problem. Keep us posted.

I'd have bet it was the pump too. EFI Harleys really don't seem to like being cranked with no fuel. I think the pump is cooled or lubed by the fuel and can get damaged if you crank it for about a minute without fuel.

Can't really suggest anything else. The system is self-priming so I doubt its any kind of air-lock.

Don't forget to only pay them for the item that actually fixes it, not all the other stuff they changed along the way.

Went to pickup the FatBob,they said she's ready to go. Went about a mile and it quit running just like before. Guess what the gas gage said 1/4 of a tank which I thought was obviously enough to get to a gas station. It had ran out of gas. They came and hauled it back.Told me normally they fill em up,but forgot to.now it seems to be fixed, only cost 671.88,OUCH!!!!!!!!!

Who knows ,they had already replaced the fuel pump,so it might have been just the injectors, but like i said ,who knows?

So what work was done as per the $671 repair bill?
Ask them for the old parts that they took off.
