Default Bassani question

I just recently switched from rinehart crossbacks to bassani road rage 2 into 1. After installation I now have this weird vibration sound I can't track down. It's only at certain rpms. The only thing else I could think of is I ran the se flat gaskets. I was thinking about trying the tapered gasket but after googling I found some people use flat and others use tapered. It's not a heat shield sound either. Any advice? Thanks.

All I can say is Kurt at Bassani told me to run the SE flat too but my dyno tuner whom I have a lot of respect for told me the tapered seals better. Might give the tapered a go and see if the sound goes away. Keep checking those heat shield though because I had a little noise from them that I had to chase down.

If they are the new style you can use either. The new shape let's em all work. I just installed a set and used the tapered style

I have the road rage 2-1 on my FLHX and I noticed the other day while cruising at 2700-2950 RPM I had a weird vibration noise. It ended up being my screamin eagle ventilator A/C. I guess I did not torque down the bolts enough- I applied loctite this time too.
It's an awesome exhaust, congrats!

Thanks for the tips. I think I'll pull the exhaust back off and start from square one, with new gaskets.

5109, about 2 years ago I put on a set of Bassani RR and had this vibration sound coming from the end cone of the exhaust. what I did was to put a 1/4 inch cable clip on the vertical back pressure rod in the exhaust. It changed the exhaust flow and fixed the problem
