Is the support bar they goes from one slip on to the other on the dynas needed? On my 98 the bar goes from one muffler to the other muffler but nowhere else. I have slip on SE. The header supports are right behind the slip on clamps so I'm curious how bracketing just the slip ons together is supporting anything? I looked at some used dynas in my year and didn't see any using it on full aftermarket or slip ons so wondering why I still have it bolted up? Thanks

Item 20 on the image.

If it fits , use it.
The extra holding will be in your favor.

Maybe the connecting bar is there to keep the two muffs from rattling against each other....

The way these bikes shake at idle if I had one I would keep it. More than likely the reason people dont run one is because it wouldn't adapt to their new exhaust. Here's a pic that explains my reasoning

Default Ayup

Definitely use it (the bracket), if you have it ,and it fits the slip ons (which it should). If not pick up a used one as soon as you can or fabricate something. Not only does it help with the Dyna "wiggle". The brackets also support the mufflers will help to keep them from working their way off your head pipes, either singly or in tandem. I have seen quite a few DIY muffler jobs that abandoned ship becasue the only thing holding them on was the muffler clamp. Decent slipons will have a bracket of some sort with them if they do not use the OEM. Trust me, the factory is not giving you extra parts,
