Default DK Custom Breather Bolts

I am curious if anyone has installed/used these bolts. If so, do they work ok, or I guess my concern is do they make a mess with the oil dripping, spray, etc...

LINK

Thanks

I have them on my Street Bob. They have a little foam filter behind the wire mesh and it keeps the oil from leaking/dripping. You just have to remove the snap-ring and replace the foam every few thousand miles. The only negative thing I've noticed is that a couple pairs of my pants that I ride in regularly have been getting dirtier on the inside of my right leg and I assume it's from that.

and even after placing two of the foam pieces behind the screens there was still significant spray onto the pipes and the rocker boxes. I'll add though that the performance is quite decent…. but, frequent cleaning

I've found that if you don't fill oil to the top of dip stick you get very little spray. Small price to pay for no oil going into the combustion chamber. I don't know why everyone doesn't take advantage of these.

Yea, I have them with a DK 587 AC on a carbed '04 Dyna. They release a fine oil mist at speed. It collects on the front side of the carb. Has to be cleaned off after each ride or it makes a mess of the carb. I like the size of the 587 AC, but I'd not go this route again. Doesn't seem to happen to everyone, but sure has to me.

Oh, and I never run my oil level above 1/2 the FULL point on the dipstick, so that sure isn't it.

I made a set up where my breather's exit below my exhaust and just past the the pipe to save from oil mist on the bike. I used the mid control mounting location to install a bracket to hold things snugly there. Works like a charm.

I've never had it drip, but a little spray when it's hot out or around town driving. I've read about taking out a 1/2 qt of oil will cure it. I haven't done that yet, but I will this next oil change. So far this spring I haven't had very much spray at all. I've never had it on my jeans either, but the spray has made it to my saddle bag and pipes before. I wipe my down weekly and it doesn't bother me and it looks badass.

They don't fit the SE stage 1 Breather backplate, So I made a custom vent to a hidden catchcan.

Thanks guys, this is info I needed! I think I'll be placing my order for the bolts and the 636v breather.
