Default FXDF brake pad replacement is a tight squeeze

Replacing the front pads. They don't just fall out like other pads. There's clips on the back. It was tough getting them out and even tougher getting them to squeeze back in. Am I missing something?

NOPE, TIGHT fit for sure...i did front and backs when i powdered my wheels...

You did remove the calipers right? And squeezed the plungers back to their full recessed position... right?
