Default thinking of getting new low rider

I test rode the new low ridr yesterday and loved it, very nice and everything just felt good and natural

I am thnking of selling my 06 dyna superglide and getting a black low rider

Does it seem silly to trade one dyna for another

my 06 has 83,000 miles, fresh rebuilt transmission, andrews 37 cams, ness fairing, gloss black PC wheels, black swithback baords, ricor sport shocks and ricor drop in valves in front tubes, andrews 30t pully, baker primary chain adjuster, yaffe bars.......

evrything on the lowrider just felt tight and smooth

what do you think i could ask for this bike?

You've done a lot of work to that bike and put on a lot of miles. Unfortunately as many of us have learned the hard way mods aren't worth much unless you find the right buyer who 1) understands the value and 2) would have done the same mod. I think you are in the 6-8k range bud. Bikes like the one you describe go wholesale for 5k.

yea the trade was going to be 6,000, so the dealershp doesn't put much value on mods
For 6,000 i would just keep it

I was thinking of selling it then just taking the money in as using it for down payment.
I thought about listing it for $8,995

If i dont get the new lowrider i think i will rebuilt my 88" motor to 98" and put my mids back on and that might feel enough like a new bike.

So to do the motor and have it tuned i think im spending around $2,000- $2,500

I think I would take the $6000 trade and trade if you really like the new bike aaaalot life is short and life on a bike you love is living p.s. I lost $ to get my lowrider just had to have it! No regrets! Not one!

Tbh 6k sounds pretty fair. I think if you sell it private you could expect 7-8. At that range you are probably drawing the interest of first time harley buyers who won't get your mods and may actually be turned away by a high mileage bike that has been "tampered" with. Your 98" plan sounds more cost effective for sure, but again, that's more mods $$$ you'll never get back. I would say the fact you are even looking means you should buy that new LR.

Yes, the 6k sounds fair. 8 year old bike with 83k on the meter, even with the rebuild tranny & extras it'll be hard justifying more than 7ish. If you still have some of the OEM parts maybe you can reinstall them and sell the upgraded parts. I've done this on a few occasions prior to trade ins.

Take the 6k and trade it in - you will be so much more pleased with the new bike that you will kick yourself for not doing it sooner.

i am leaning toward getting the new bike
i felt great on the test ride, dont think id change a thing accept the grips, i think they are alittle too skinny

i might try to sell my bike first and see if i can get closer to $8,000. if no takers i like the idea of putting stock parts back on and tradin it in

ive traded other harleys in before and didnt think this much about it

i think just because i bought the bike new in o6 and had it the whole time it seems alittle hard for what ever reason

i like the black LR with the red lettering and striping
i had an 87 fxr LR that was very similar
