Does it really work? (2014 low rider suspension)
Hi all,
Especially looking for opinions from current owners of new low rider.
Current ride is a 13 xl1200c and contemplating a 14 dyna low rider. HD promo literature says the low rider suspension is all new design with triple-rate springs, etc.
Question is - does it really work?
To make my sporty work I upgraded seat and rear shocks (to air) and it does work quite well for me now. Just wondering if the low rider will need the same intervention(s).
Thanks for any feedback.

I too have a '12 XL1200C in the garage accompanying the new Low Rider. I can honestly say that there is a night and day difference between my upgraded suspension on the XL to the stock Low Rider suspension with the Low Rider being far superior. They really did a good job with the suspension. The ONLY reason I would consider even changing out the rear shocks would be for a bit longer versions for a bit more lean angle but it's fine the way it is.

I have about 500 miles on my 2014 Low Rider. I have also owned two Road Kings and one Street Glide. On those bikes I have used both Progressive and HD Premium rear shocks. I will tell you this, the Low Rider handles a lot better and is a lot smoother riding than my previous touring bikes. The difference is huge. My only complaint about the Low Rider rear shocks is that they have developed some squeaking when compressed. I have them set up for my weight and all bolts are tight. It has been extremely humid here, I wonder if that is the problem. I will have the mechanics check them out at the 1000 mile service.

I went from a 97 fxd that had new rear shocks plus I Changed out the original fork sliders over to chrome ones but kept the original front Springs with fresh oil and the new fxdl that I bought just over a week ago is a vast improvement from my previous bike. Would just a set of newer fxdl shocks improve your ride? Possibly but I believe the improved ride is from the newer triple rate Springs in the front end as well as the new design in the rear shocks.

I'm with you on the look of the seat... my two cents... I agree its hard, but seems to be breaking in and becoming more comfortable the more my *** softens it
