I've been eying the trac dynamic swing arm...

anyone here have any experience with aluminum swing arms? is it worth the $$$?

 

Less unsprung weight is always a good thing. Is it worth it? that's up to you. I'd run one from a reputable manufacturer. Is the one you are looking at fit 06-later frames? The only ones I have ever seen are for 05 and earlier

 

Change in unspring weight is negligible as most of the weight towards the pivot point so is hardly moving. Not sure what other advantages there are other than looks.

 

I have a Trac Dynamics swingarm (second one I have owned).
Quality is top notch, but they take a long, long time to make them.
They told me it was 2-4 weeks, but they should have said 2-4 months.
You might call them to check on your order and they could say "should be real close-maybe next week"- then you call them a month later and they say the same thing...
I love mine-strong and light, but I know a guy who cancelled his order after delays as he just couldn't wait any longer.

 

handles better with less unsprung weight mine from metmachex in england took about 6 weeks show polish about 1000.00 to door shipping,customs etc changes with currency values worth it? depends what level handling you want to go to.composite rotors make a big difference also less weight better stop no fade
