Default Did I mess up gasket?

Pipes get here Wednesday, so I just put in new exhaust gaskets prepping. The back one gave me a little trouble putting in but it really doesn't look any different than the ones I took out, but wanted other opinions to see if you think I should get another new one.

It has a slight bump in it that I tried to smooth.

Probably going to be OK.

If it was me doing it though then I'd swap it out

Use some copper grease on it when fitting - makes it slide in with less chance of damage.

Don't think it's that bad, did about the same to mine as I was installing new pipes and worked out just fine. Just be careful not to catch the lip of the new pipes going into that otherwise might make it worse and then be a real problem.

Looks like you're running kind of lean though, white on the valve stem.

Thats the factory set-up for you I guess. I have 1,100 miles on it and just taking stock exhaust off.

1100 miles I would have left the originals in there. Once you have mesh like that sticking out you never know if it mybegin to get sucked in or pushed out. it was me i would just get a new one. But it could also be just fine, ya never know!

You will be okay. The header will seal once you torque the nuts. Just check them a few times to retq...

Both of mine looked like that this weekend...sealed-p /no problems. They're meant to form to pipes...

I've done that before....On my bike, I don't get too concerned about it. On a customers bike, I'd replace it because they pay for excellence and that's what they get.

Hard to tell from your pic, but are they tempered exhaust gaskets and did you put it in the correct way? it almost looks like a tapered gasket with the thick side showing in your pic on the outside....
