Default Dyna Fuel Mileage

I have a 2011 FXDB, when I get about 120 miles in that tank, I get the fuel light on and the count down. I one time ran it to 140 and countdown said low. When I fill it up, its usually right around 2 gallons. I believe its a 5 gallon tank (its stock). Am I really leaving 2-3 gallons in the tank every time I fill up?

Anyone else have this issue.

Yes you re leaving 2-3 gallons each time. Here is my suggestion, you should get no less than 38 miles to the gallon. I would say you can go about 190-200 miles per tank easily. When you get to around the 190-200 mark, carry around a small gas jug with exactly 1 gallon of fuel. (In case it runs out)

If you run out pour the gallon into the tank and go to the nearest station to fuel up. Remember how many miles you had on it when you put the gallon in it and look again when you get to the station.

If you run out that is your max mileage. When you fill up add one gallon to the quantity and that is almost the max your tank will take. When you fill up every time reset you trip meter to watch the mileage.

I have filled up 5.1 gallons one time. Never ran it out. Don't like to dry run an EFI.

I thought that might be the case but I was too big a ***** to run her out (didn't know if I would mess the bike up). I ride with guy who all ride baggers, they'll be glad to not stop every 100-120 miles (except the old bastard who will now take **** because his blatter is only about 100 miles).

I reckon I'm an old fart too as I stop about every 100-120 as well. Mine is to stretch my legs as my gouty knees get stiff and ache.

If I stop at a station I will too off while I'm at it.

I've gone to 200 miles on a tank with my FXDI without running dry but stopping after a hundred is good for my knees lol. I guess the distance depends on how hard you ride. I'm getting to an age where I like to watch the view rather than burn rubber.

200 miles is around 325 km
I get about 250 km per tank on my 07 FXDB, that's about 160 miles.
I do drive it like I stole it and that is city driving.
Going south next week on a week long ride, maybe it might be better

My '02 (carb'd) averages 43-44 mpg & I have to switch to reserve around 165-170 miles.

This weekend I filled up and now have 44.8 on the clock and my guage is showing 1/2 tank. A couple months ago I put a PC III on from fuel moto with a custom map. I am wondering if there might be something wrong with the settings. I can put my finger in the pipes and get a black soot on them. Wonder if I should be calling fuel moto
