Default Cycle Shack...I'm impressed

Coming from riding a shadow with cobra pipes on it, I was less than impressed with the stock HD sound...guess I was used to "loud". Anyways, installed some Cycle Shack slip ons today, and damn...didn't think they were gonna sound like that. My original thought was, "eh, it's $150...if sounds like sh*t, at least I didn't break the bank.

Question, I am getting a slight pop on decel. Is this normal?...sorry, first Harley. All I know is I was running the shadow without baffles and had no pop whatsoever. It was fuel injected as well, and still had the stock computer settings.

So is slight popping normal for HD, or do I need to get the FI remapped?

I had Cycle Shack slip-ons on my 06 Wide Glide. They are my favorite slip-on. The decel pop can be eliminated with a tuner. I am going thru that process now with my set up.

It is normal, it even happened when my exhaust was new before I gutted them just a lot less noticeable I got some XiEDs that helped a lot, and is a cheap solution until the wife lets me drop the bucks on a good tuner haha

Another satisfied Cycle Shack customer here. I went from Screamin' Eagle slip on's and when I added the CS's I was getting a lot of decel pop. My carb had already been rejetted so I just had to richen it up a bit. It still pops occasionally, but it was doing that with the SE's slip on's too.

I just sold my cycle shacks for $50!

I liked my cycle shack slip ons, they sounded great. My bike had a "decel gargle".. Never really popped. I wanted a better exhaust note and wanted to tone it down and not run it wide open, so I got Rush Slip Ons. Better exhaust note and didn't have the power loss like with the CS's. But, that's when I started hearing the decel popping...

But for the money, they sound great.

For the money, they sound great IMO. The pop really isn't that bad. I talked to a buddy of mine with a Switchback, he did the whole dyno tune, FI remap thing and his still pops a bit on decel, so I guess I'm not gonna worry about it for the time being.
