I finally broke down and bought the black HD LED Daymaker headlight tonight. I went to install it and saw there is not only the main 3 prong light plug but also a seperate red wire that connects to the light as well. The instructions say nothing about that wire... does any one know what it is? I dont have another wire in my bucket, just the main 3 prong wire so I am a bit confused.
Thanks! I did a search for it and came up with nothing. The light worked so I figured it was something I didnt need to worry about....but wanted to make sure.
How do you like the headlight? I've been itching to get one
I dont know yet, I just installed it today and wont be riding at night until this weekend. It does light up the garage well though. Lol I do like the white beam versus the yellow beam from the stocker.
Did you buy the recommended headlight bucket as well or did it fit fine in the stock one?
It fit perfect in my stock low rider bucket. It was tight at first but realized the plugs where just not in the right spot so i fiddled witb them for a second and it fit right in and used the stock trim ring.

I don't think the reason they want you to get a new bucket is about whether it will fit or not, but about how the LED is "mounted" into the bucket.
I just picked up a new Daymaker & new bucket for my 2015 SB. I'll take some pics and make a post when I do the install in the next couple of days. Someone mentioned in another thread the the new bucket has some rubber mounting. I can confirm that my new bucket has a couple of hefty rubber mounts - 1 for the top & 1 for the bottom. I'll compare the stock & the new one & get a new thread up with pictures when I'm done.
