Bike Won't start, No spark
I used a battery charger to jump start my bike. It started up with no problem.
I then turned the engine off and left the battery charger on a slow charge. After charging the battery the bike won't start, at first I smelled gas and figured I flooded the engine. I waited the next day and still It won't start and has no spark to the plugs. Any ideals where I can start?
Bike is a 2001 Indian Scout with a 88 S&S engine.

RE: Bike Won't start, No spark
Let me get this right:
1. It starts hooked up to charger.
2. Battery "appears" to take charge.
3. Won't start with just battery.
If thoses are correct can you answer the following?
1. Do any of the lights work?
2. Have you cleaned the battery connectors?
3. Check the ground wire from battery to frame. Make sure there is not excessive corrsion.
4. Have a spare battery around that fits? If so try it.

RE: Bike Won't start, No spark
The battery is fully charged and lights work, battery cranks the engine just fine. Even put the charger back on and still no spark to the plugs.

RE: Bike Won't start, No spark
Pull Plug and leave it attached to wire. CARFULLY see if spark is getting there.
Check Voltage Regualtor may have blown it with your charger.
Check your Plug Wires
Check your plugs themselfs

RE: Bike Won't start, No spark
Few things missing here..
Pull Plug and leave it attached to wire. CARFULLY see if spark is getting there....(GROUND the plug to the engine.)
The engine would still start with a bad regulator unless it was grounded which would probably smoke the wires.
Try some fresh plugs, they may be fouled and you will not get a spark.
The kill switch would prevent it from cranking.
I would check power to the coil and see if it is there for starters, if not then backtrack to see where you are loosing it.If you have power here, then it is secondary ignition problem (wires/plugs)
Another possibility is the contacts in the ignition switch being bad or burnt.
