Default front turn signal/running light issue

95 FXDS Conv. I have 2 wires from my harness to front accessories. 1 wire is black with copper wire and other is black with silver wire. My new accessory has 3 wires. Black, purple, blue. Am wondering which wire connects to what. Tried numerous combos and don't get the dual filament to work how its suppose to. Is 1 wire suppose to be grounded to frame maybe? Any advice will definitely help this headache out.

Oh and when I attach my old accessory lights everything works as there suppose to.

Your new accessory...what exactly is your "New Accessory"?

I'm assuming your new accessory is a light. Did the cable (Copper and Silver) previously operate a dual filament bulb? If so one wire was probably for filament one and the other is for filament two. The bulb was probably also grounded to the socket itself. If not one is probably power and the other is ground. A test light can help you figure this out.

On your new accessory the black wire is the ground. The other two wires power the two filaments. You just need to ground the accessory to a existing ground wire or a bare spot on the frame (no paint).
