Try unhooking the battery, negative side first and then the positive. Let the bike sit for about 3 minutes then re-attach the cables, negative first then the positive and see if that doesn't fix the problem.

Close: when re-attaching battery cables...positive first, negative last. It'll be reverse order from removing them...for the very same reason you take them off in specific order. You don't want the battery grounded to the frame when you are messing with the positive lead/terminal, during removal or installation of cables.
Thanks for all the suggestions. I based the battery not charging while riding due to hooking up the tender after riding it had to charge the battery again. I haven’t taken voltage readings but will.
Every bike I've hooked to a tender/charger shows charging for a short time even after riding. It is not an indication the bike is not charging. Voltage reading will confirm if the bike is properly charging the battery while running.
Check battery voltage, it may just be low from the get go and needs a charge. And yes removal is ground first then hot and installation is hot first then ground, if nothing else you don't want thee possibility of arcing hot to ground when tightening/loosening the hot wire.
