Petroleum jelly is perfect as a dielectric. Really.

And while it is definitely correct that you shouldn't use it on rubber, I'm not sure how much real "rubber" is actually on a current H-D, as opposed to a multitude of synthetic materials. Anyway, the dielectric "grease" goes between two metal components.

Unless you're really sloppy.
