Hey,

I was extending my control lines on the throttle side for ape hangers and this piece fell out...i can't figure out where it goes in the housing. I've had plenty of Jap bikes, but never seen this before. If anyone can help me and shed some light, I would be greatly appreciative.

That looks like a clip I've seen inside the switch housing to hold a switch (brake light I think) in place. Heres a link that I think applies to you. Scroll down for pics.

Yup, the spring that holds the brake switch button in place use care in replacing it. The button is very fragile.
