Default No Brake or Tail Light

I have a 99 Fatboy that I removed the rear fender for paint and the front LED turn signals to reposition for a batwing fairing. Since doing that I had an issue with the headlight, turn signals and rear tail light. I've since corrected the headlight and turn signal issue. (Front turn signal wire insulation was exposed)

Currently my problem is the brake light works in accessory but when I turn to ignition no brake light or tail light. I did have to cut the wires for the tail/brake light when I removed the fender. I put it back together with waterproof butt connectors and shrink wrap. I checked the dual filament bulb and it looks fine plus as I said the brake light works in accessory. Any ideas?

Get a test light check the connection before your butt connector and after see if you actually are connected with butt connectors

might also trying to run a wire touching tailight housing and to the frame see if housing needs a ground.

Thanks for the suggestions. Looks like all the connections at the ignition switch are fine.
I'm pretty electronically challenged so if you could tell me how to test the connection before the butt connection I'd really appreciate it. I assume you mean from the deutsch connection leading to the butt and not from the tail light leading to the butt.

I don't know if your 99 is wired like this 08 touring, but it may give you an idea what to look for.

Thanks for the diagram. Everything was working fine prior to me having to cut the wires so I'm thinking it most likely has something to do with reattaching them and less likely it could be anything else unless something happened to the tail light when I removed it.
