16 FLHXS & JW Speaker 8770 Evo 2 Issues
Installed the JW Speaker 8700 Evolution 2 in black on a 2016 FLHXS using HD part # 69200897 wiring harness. Great light, but I have two issues.
1) Low Beam Flickers
2) Light does switch between high & low correctly, but the High Beam indicator stays on all the time on the dash.
Installation was textbook with no issues, bike is basically new with no other electrical system mods at this time, not even LED blinkers yet.
If anyone is contemplating this light... don't. At $275 off Amazon and a $20 harness from the local dealer everyone should have an LED light on the bike. What a difference day & night! Safer & more enjoyable.
Help with these two issues would be killer though.

Go to the dealer and have them flash the computer so that when you turn on your high beams the low beam isn't on too. That 8700 evo 2 won't allow low and high to work at the same time. Your bike I assume had a dual halogen from the factory. The dual halogen I believe runs high and low at the same time. Has to be dealer flashed to change it.
I need to sell my evo 2. I rode with it twice at night. I hated it.

EVO 2 Fix
As an update, the issue with my EVo 2 was a bad headlight. After reading the forums, I was having the same issues as folks who had a bad ground or a bad plug. I had neither. Sent the old light back to Amazon & got a replacement. High beam indicator is no longer on when I have the light on low beam & no more flicker. If you opt to get it off Amazon, just make sure it says "Fulfilled by Amazon" & not a 3rd party seller that way you get the kick *** 30 day Amazon guarantee. Have over 100 mile on the new bulb and not a single issue.
Not sure why anyone would dislike this light. It is more than twice as bright. On low beam (as with any projector style light) there are some darker areas. The set up is so much brighter than stock it is not an issue. Not like it's pitch black in these areas.
I did have to re-aim mine up some too. The spread was better after I got it set up correctly.
Install takes about 10 minutes with the $20 harness for the HD dealership.

I have the Custom Dynamics front & back with the smoked HD covers, but not the "halo" style ones. I'm putting the HD auxilary lamp set up on so the halos wouldn't have looked right. My gueess is that they are all LED and shoudl be real close if not an exact match.
My guess is that it is just his preferance. Personally I couldn't wait to get the stock HD unit off my bike and wouldn't think about going back.
